I was in a bar running away from everything when I changed my life. I hadn’t hit rock bottom yet, but I was as close to it as I ever wanted to be. I had just heard the news that I had been laid off from my job a few hours earlier. What had started as a promising career had become a shattered dream in the span of an afternoon, all because the bosses figured that they could give themselves a bigger bonus if they laid off half their staff. Things were already stressful at home, but being laid off didn’t help things. One fight with my boyfriend later and he had gone to stay with his family for a few days to ‘figure things out. To cap everything off, a round of unfortunately timed bills had left me with just enough money left to afford, well, a few drinks.

A few drinks and a promising-looking cheap, one-way ticket back to my hometown. It had been six years since I had left. I was lucky; I knew that if everything else fell through, my sister would let me stay with her. I had already paid rent for that month, but there was no telling whether I’d be able to make it the following month. We could probably hold out on a threadbare budget out of my boyfriend’s paycheck, which would keep us limping for a few months, but eventually, the bottom would fall out of the whole thing. I gave a long, hard thought to where I was in life, and to where I wanted to be. Then, I started thinking about all the ways the deck is stacked against me, against all of us.

It can be hard to make it out there. The economy has changed, and not for the better. Wages are stagnant, jobs are slim pickings. What used to be an economy full of steady employment with the promise of upward mobility and competitive wages has been replaced by an ever-expanding gig economy. Workers are disposable resources, and companies are finding unique and innovative ways to screw us over. I could find another job, but I’d probably be doing something in the gig economy. I don’t remember where I heard about Hustlers University, but something tugged my memory.

A few hours and a few drinks later, I decided it was time to bet on myself. I decided to at least try everything, I owed that to myself. I signed up for Hustlers University. That was two and a half years ago. Here’s what I’ve learned.

How It Works

Hustlers University isn’t a traditional learning environment. This was the first thing that caught me by surprise when I signed on. I knew what I was getting into, as their website is upfront about how they do things, but there was still a bit of a learning curve. Instead of a standard collection of online videos, the whole of it is done through Discord, an online messenger client that’s becoming increasingly popular as a learning tool. At first, I thought there was going to be a tradeoff of organization for direct communication with the community and instructors, but I was surprised to find that the outfit has organization down. Being a Discord community, you’ll have the opportunity to chat directly with your instructors as well. Once you select a path, you start taking courses. It’s pretty simple and straightforward.

There are over 50,000 active members, leaving no shortage of people to network with. There are several educational paths to choose from, and some are definitely better choices than others. For example, Investing/Real Estate, Affiliate Marketing, Freelancing/Copywriting, and Amazon FBA/E-Commerce are all great tracks, though; I got my start in Affiliate Marketing and am currently on the Freelancing/Copywriting track. There are also plenty of courses on personal finance management as well. By contrast, now would be a terrible time to choose the Crypto and NFT path, given that both cryptocurrency and especially NFTs are collapsing as a market, as you can see here.

What Are the Downsides?

There are a few things to consider before jumping in. No program is a miracle method to get rich with no effort, and effort is the key to remember here. These programs put a lot of weight on the idea of personal responsibility and taking command of your own life. The instructors say that they’ll give you the skills you need to succeed, but they’re not going to succeed for you. These programs are free of all fat and fluff, opting instead for straightforward, no-nonsense information and brutal honesty. If you’re not willing to put in the time and effort to succeed, you won’t succeed. There will be no excuses tolerated. These methods have worked for others, and with time and effort, they can work for you, too. If you’re not someone who responds to challenges with an iron will, this may not be for you.

Another matter that must be addressed is that this is not a get-rich-quick program, as you can see at https://hustlersthrone.com/hustlers-university-review. If you’re looking into this with the intention of getting an immediate return on investment, you may not understand what you’re getting into. This is a series of programs that will teach you skills that will take time and work to master and implement. You’re encouraged (and, indeed, expected) to find and have another job while learning these skills. That was one of the first things I got drilled into me, as I jumped in without a more sensible safety net. I had to get a new job myself, though thankfully it was a holdover until I could get running with the skills I learned.

Overall, you’ll have to put in the work to make it work for you. It won’t give you immediate, success, but it will give you the knowledge and skills to succeed. The rest is going to be up to you. If you’re willing to bet on yourself, if you’re willing to work hard and learn from those who have succeeded, there may just be something here for you.
