Choosing a character for a video game is a hard decision.

You’re going to be spending a lot of time with your character, so you need to pick someone who has a preferable fighting style while still being fun to play with.

Diablo 3 is no exception. With seven classes to choose from, it can be an overwhelming decision.

We’ve gathered everything you need to know about Diablo 3 characters so you can make an informed decision.

Choosing Your Diablo 3 Characters

There are a lot of games to choose from, but Diablo 3 is one of the best selling video games of all time. It’s a wise choice for PC and console gamers alike.

Getting started with Diablo 3 can be daunting, so here’s what you need to know about choosing the most fun Diablo 3 class for you!

Barbarian

Barbarians use big weapons and brute strength to take down the enemies surrounding them.

If you love playing as a powerhouse in the middle of the battlefield, the Barbarian might be for you! This character is good for casuals and those new to the Diablo 3 franchise.

Crusader

This character is part of the Reaper of Souls expansion and is perfect for close combat in the middle of battle. Using a variety of mid-range spells while wielding a shield and flail, the Crusader wants to purge evil from the land.

The Crusader is perfect for those who dabble in magic, but love getting up close and personal.

Demon Hunter

You won’t find a Demon Hunter in the midst of the action, but their job is super important for everyone on their team. The Demon Hunter uses ranged attacks to slow down enemies, making it easier for the team to strategize.

Demon Hunters are physically weak and best used with a team to help with crowd control. If you prefer attacking from afar and ensnaring enemies, the Demon Hunter might be for you.

Monk

The Diablo 3 Monk is similar to the Barbarian because it thrives in the middle of the action, but trades strength for agility and intelligence. It also has some ranged attacks.

This class is good for gamers who like being in the middle of the action, but who have more experience getting out of dire situations.

Each Diablo 3 class has special Set items that can be equipped for bonuses. The raiment of a thousand storms build is a six-piece set only available for the Monk, but can increase attack speed and weapon damage.

Necromancer

Available as DLC for Reaper of Souls, the Necromancer brings the dead back to life and has them do its bidding. It can also curse enemies with awful afflictions.

For gamers who like relying on intelligence who also have a stomach for all things creepy, the Necromancer is the perfect blend of both.

Witch Doctor

This character uses voodoo-like magic to attack from afar. You can cast poison spells that gradually do damage over time and summon zombies and vermin to attack your enemies. Hand-to-hand combat isn’t the Witch Doctor’s strong suit, so avoid it if you can.

If you’re a fan of attacking the hordes from a distance, the Witch Doctor might be the most fun Diablo 3 class for you.

Wizard

The Wizard is strong in both close combat and ranged attacks. Relying on intelligence, the Wizard manipulates space, time, and the elements to fight enemies.

The Wizard might be the hardest class to master and may have the most weaknesses, but gamers who like getting creative will have fun mastering this character!

Do Your Research

When choosing from the Diablo 3 characters for the first time, you should pick someone whose fighting style best matches what you’re used to. Once you’re comfortable, branch out and try a different class! See if you can master them all!

After playing a game as intense and strategic as Diablo 3, it’ll be nice to relax with something like The Sims 4!
